China to Impose Zero-Tariff Policy for African Partner Nations
Beijing stated that it "will continue negotiating and signing joint economic partnership agreements, and further expand market access for African exports through upgraded mechanisms such as the 'green channel.'" The initiative is expected to cover nearly the entire African continent, which has 54 countries in total.
The announcement coincides with the African Union’s annual summit in Addis Ababa, where leaders are reviewing major security challenges in Africa, including situations in Sudan, the Sahel region, and Somalia, while also discussing climate action, economic reforms, and institutional strengthening.
